About Carl

Carl Messenheimer is originally from Columbus, Ohio. He graduated with a mechanical engineering degree and worked in the engineering field for more than 30 years. Now retired, he divides his time between contract work and his studio.

Woodworking began as a hobby for Carl. Having learned the basics of wood construction, he eventually moved into smaller, more intricate pieces. He especially enjoys designing and building jewelry boxes and other specialty items, and his choice of exotic woods in combination with domestic woods create his signature style.
